UT Arlington parking, transportation options expand with debut of the College Park District
Students, faculty, staff and visitors to the UT Arlington campus this fall will have new parking options with access to 1,800 spaces in three College Park District garages and enhanced shuttle services to the E.H. Hereford University Center.
The Park North, Park Central and Park South garages will serve 600 students living in the new Vandergriff Hall and The Lofts at College Park apartments, patrons of College Park District restaurants and shops and visitors to the University Center and the new, 7,000-square-foot Dan Dipert University Welcome Center at South Center and West Second streets.
Also new this fall is Mav Mobile, a 14-passenger, electric shuttle cart that will serve riders during peak traffic periods between the College Park District and the University Center shuttle stop on East First Street. University shuttle services are free and run every 15 to 20 minutes, depending on the routes.
“We are pleased to offer our campus community more parking and transportation options this fall,” said John Hall, UT Arlington vice president for administration and campus operations. “We encourage students, employees and campus visitors to make use of the convenient College Park District garages and to use our shuttle system to get around campus easily.”
College Park District garages may be accessed from UTA Boulevard, Center Street or Pecan Street. Visit www.utacollegepark.com for a district map and information about upcoming events at College Park Center.

UT Arlington reminds students, faculty and staff that “R” permits for the remote Lot 26 at Maverick Stadium are available at a substantial savings. The Stadium Long shuttle route offers service every 15 minutes and delivers riders to the central campus.
Other Fall 2012 service enhancements include:
- The Express Route shuttle will stop at Maverick Place Student Apartments on Benge Drive every 15 minutes, delivering riders to Lot 26 at Maverick Stadium and the Smart Hospital, 706 Greek Row Drive.
- The Stadium Long Route will serve residents of the privately owned Midtown Student Living and Campus Edge complexes with stops at the Swift Center on UTA Boulevard and Timber Brook Apartments, 410 Kerby Street.
- A UT Arlington Police substation at West First Street, inside the College Park development. The satellite station will be staffed 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
- More than 80 video camera monitors and blue light emergency call boxes throughout College Park garages to maintain a secure environment.
Additionally, Arlington Hall and Brazos Hall residents will be allowed to park in either Lot 38, off Oak Street south of UTA Boulevard, or the College Park garages. The adjacent Lot 39 will be reserved for retail parking to support the UTA Bookstore, 400 S. Pecan St., and College Park restaurants and retail outlets.
A limited number of spaces will be reserved weekdays in the Park North garage for use by First Baptist Church-Arlington and the City of Arlington. First Baptist contributed land toward the 20-acre, mixed-use development, and the city pledged up to $18 million toward the parking structures.
Both entities will use additional spaces on weekends or during evening special events, when campus demand is lower.
