State Rep. Diane Patrick, R-Arlington, and state Sen.-elect Kelly Hancock, R-Fort Worth, will be featured in The Texas Tribune’s “The Hot Seat in Arlington” on Friday, Jan. 25, 2013 at The University of Texas at Arlington’s College Park Center.

This in-depth conversation about the 83rd Legislative Session is a part of The Texas Tribune’s series of conversations with prominent elected officials and newsmakers and will be moderated by Evan Smith, chief executive officer and editor-in-chief of the nonprofit news organization.

Patrick was elected to a fourth term in the Texas House this past November. She previously served as a member of the Arlington ISD Board of Trustees for 11 years, including four years as school board president, followed by four years of service as an elected Republican on the State Board of Education. Patrick also formerly served as a faculty member in the UT Arlington College of Education and Health Professions.

Hancock was first elected to the Texas House in November 2006 and has served on the House Insurance Committee, the Environmental Regulation Committee and as vice chairman of the Local and Consent Calendars Committee during the 82nd legislative session. Hancock led 15 committee members on key policy decisions while serving as chairman of the Republican Caucus Policy.
