Solar Eclipse

Kim Breuer, associate professor of instruction in the Department of History, and Evan Spencer, public services archivist, spoke with WFAA about the way ancient civilizations and premodern peoples viewed solar eclipses. Breuer’s students have been studying a collection of celestial maps that document mankind’s historical understanding of the skies.

Urban Resilience Fellowship

The North Texas Innovation Alliance will launch its Urban Resilience Fellowship Program in partnership with UT Arlington and UT Dallas, Dallas Innovates and Community Impact report. Meghna Tare, UTA’s chief sustainability officer, said the new program was a unique and transformative opportunity for emerging leaders in the field of urban planning.
