Solar eclipse

Kim Breuer, associate professor of instruction in the Department of History, wrote an article for The Conversation, about the upcoming solar eclipse and how ancient societies interpreted them.

Levent Gurdemir, UTA Planetarium director, spoke with the Fort Worth Star-Telegram about how often total eclipses occur.

The Fort Worth Report included UTA’s “Solar-bration” in its roundup of solar eclipse events happening around the Metroplex. The Arlington Report included UTA’s event as well.

A Cincinnati, Ohio, public radio segment featured research from UT Arlington professors who found that the skull shapes of dipsadine snakes in Central and South America have evolved and adapted to meet the demands of their habitats and food sources.

Over the weekend and on Monday morning, Spectrum News in Austin and San Antonio re-ran a feature on campus' recent Education Career Day. A University of Texas at Arlington student was prominently featured, as she spoke with several school districts about potential job opportunities.
