Solar-bration Coverage
Several outlets highlighted UTA’s Solar-bration including Reuters, The Guardian, Fox News Channel, NBC 5 and Fox 4.
Fox 4 and NBC 5 combined for nearly 20 live reports from campus on the day of the eclipse.
Experimental Opportunity
The Dallas Morning News spoke with Yue Deng, UTA professor of space physics, who used the eclipse as a chance to collect observations of the sun’s corona, the outer atmosphere that becomes visible during a total solar eclipse.
Ancient Observations
The Print ran a piece originally written for The Conversation by Kim Breuer, associate professor in the Department of History, discussing how Mayans closely observed the sun, planets and stars for record keeping.
