1. When should I apply to the School of Nursing?

Students may submit their application if they will have completed 12 of the 16 hours of required natural sciences with grades of “C” or better prior to the application deadline.  When students apply they must show a plan to complete all of the specified prerequisites marked with asterisks with grades of “C” or better prior to entering the upper division nursing program.  For example, if a student submits an application to the school of nursing by January 2nd for the Fall, then they should complete the remaining specified prerequisites in the Spring and Summer.  Full time students who start at UTA as freshmen in the Fall should follow the recommended course sequence.

 Application deadlines are:

Spring Entry - June 1                     Fall Entry - January 2

If you are attending UT Arlington, you can declare nursing as your intended major in your freshman year and begin participating in the activities of the school and work with our nursing advisors. In addition, an Introduction to Nursing course and Nursing Service Learning course are offered in the freshman year (optional). Three required pre-nursing courses are offered in the sophomore year. Students will still need to make application for admittance to the upper division nursing courses as described above.

2. How do I apply for admission to the School of Nursing?
