Math, Reading Comprehension, Vocabulary and General
Knowledge, Grammar
You will also take the Learning Style and Personality
Style in order to better support your learning experience.
3. Will the HESI A2 scores be used
in the selection process?
Yes, except for Learning Style and Personality Style.
4. Is there a minimum score?
No
5. If I previously submitted a
writing sample, will I need to take the test?
Yes, the writing sample is no longer being used as
admission criteria as there is a writing component in the HESI A2.
6. Is
there a way I can prepare for the test?
There is an optional study manual available at the UT
Arlington Book Store for $34.95; or you may order it from the website at
www.hesitest.com. We also have a copy in our office that you may view.
7. Where will the test be administered?
The School of Nursing will administer the test in the
LRC (Room 119), first floor of Pickard Hall.
8. Can I take it at other sites?
If you are unable to test at UT Arlington, the test is
also administered by Prometric. You may access their website at
www.prometric.com for location, cost, etc. The HESI A2 is an Elsevier
test and it will be listed under that heading. Test results from ProMetric
and other Schools of Nursing will be accepted if they are listed on the HESI
printout and are not older than 3 years.
9. How do I register for the test?
You must register for the HESI exam through UTA Testing
Services, 201 Davis Hall (817-272-2362). If you register in person, you are
asked to complete the registration form and take the form with payment to
the Bursar’s office. When you present the registration form to Assessment
Services stamped “Paid” by the Bursar, they will register you. If you
register by Fax, using a credit card, Testing Services will send you
confirmation.
10. May I retake the
test? If so, how often?
You may retake the test every 6 months
11. What are the due dates to submit
testing results?
Spring Admission – June 1
Fall Admission – February 1
