Progression
and Requirements for Admission
To be considered for admission,
students must be admitted to UT Arlington and complete a BSN Program
application. Official transcripts must be submitted to both the UT
Arlington Office of Admissions & Records and the School of Nursing by
the deadline. At least 12 of the 16 hours of required natural sciences
must be completed by the deadline. Also, students must have a minimum
2.5 GPA in the prerequisite/lower division course work and among the
required natural sciences.

complete all 48 credit hours of the *specified
prerequisites before the first
semester of the Nursing Program.

Transfer Students:
- Lower division courses
may be transferred from outside institutions. These courses must meet
the requirements of both the University and the School of Nursing.
Students planning to transfer should contact a BSN Academic Advisor to
verify equivalency of coursework before applying.

TOEFL Requirement
Applicants must receive a minimum score, as defined by the
University, on the Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) if the
applicant’s native / first language is not English and if he or she does not
hold a bachelor’s or higher degree from an accredited U.S. institution. The
exam is required for admission to the School of Nursing even if the student
has met one of the stated UT Arlington University exemptions for the TOEFL.
Applicants who have graduated from secondary schools or colleges in the
following countries are exempt from TOEFL: Anguilla, Antigua, Australia,
Bahamas, Barbados, Belize, Bermuda, British Virgin Islands, Canada (except
Quebec), Cayman Islands, Dominica, Grenada, Grand Cayman, Guyana, Ireland,
Jamaica, Liberia, Montserrat, New Zealand, Sierra Leone, St. Kitts and
Nevis, St. Lucia, St. Vincent, Trinidad/Tobago, Turks and Caicos Islands and

Progression
Policy for all Undergraduate Nursing Students
|
Three Attempt
Rule: Students will be ineligible for the Nursing Program if
they have failed to earn a grade of C or better (including withdrawals)
within their first three attempts of any specified prerequisite course.
Failure of Nursing
Courses:
Students working toward an undergraduate nursing degree
will not be permitted into or to continue in the Nursing Program nor to
enroll in additional nursing courses if they:
