Outstanding Mentor of the Year Award

Nomination procedures

  • Nominations must be submitted by a current UT Arlington School of Nursing PhD mentee
  • Completed letter of nomination written by mentee
  • Nominations are limited to one per student
  • Nomination letter may be submitted electronically
  • Completed Nomination Form
  • Nominations must be received by the March deadline

Criteria for Nomination

Your letter may speak to ways in which your mentor has provided support and/or contributed to your success or progression in the PhD program. Because you have worked one-on-one with your mentor(s) you have become familiar with his/her strengths and qualities. Please feel free to include personal characteristics that have influenced you. You are not limited to the list below - it is intended to stimulate ideas.

  • Academic advice (study habits, scholarly resources)
  • Emotional and moral support (balancing family, work, and school)
  • Professional guidance (opportunities for papers, posters, presentations)
  • Attributes of your mentor that have contributed to your academic success
