PhD in Nursing

PhD Program Celebrates Graduate
Dr. Glenda Daniels
Glenda Daniels completed her dissertation and graduated May 14 2009. The title of her dissertation was A National Study to Compare the Tolerability and Effectiveness of Colon Cleansing Preparations

We’ve made some important changes in the PhD in Nursing Program!

We will now accept applications for Fall Semester only.  This change helps students to stay “on track” as they move through the program.  If you’re considering applying to the program, please contact us as soon as possible.  The deadline for all application materials (including the faculty interview) is June 5

We are now offering students the opportunity to identify and design their own Individualized Area of Study and have eliminated the prescriptive academic and clinical roles. This allows you to tailor your study according to your particular interests (such as nursing education, genomics, or leadership).

More “hybrid” classes are being added to our program.  This means that more courses will be offered online with students meeting a limited number of times on campus.  This format gives students flexibility of scheduling, reduces travel, and still provides the personal contact that is so important at the doctoral level.

The minimum number of hours required for the doctoral coursework has been reduced from 69 to 54 hours. This includes 12 hours of Research Tools that meet the University’s Foreign Language/Research Tools requirement, eliminating the need to take an additional 12 hours to meet the requirement.
