The RN to BSN degree option is designed for the registered nurse who wishes to earn a baccalaureate degree. Students are admitted each fall and spring (some distance education sites are fall or spring only) following completion of 60 hours of prerequisites. Students who enroll full-time can complete the nursing courses in two semesters, meeting all day one day per week for classroom instruction. Clinical work and independent projects are scheduled separately. Part time options are available.
Distance education campuses  located in Waco, Grayson, Paris, Kaufman,  and hospital sites for Texas Health Resources, John Peter Smith Hospital and Plaza Medical Center in Fort Worth permit students to complete the majority of their classroom work in their local communities.

Students who complete an approved field of study curriculum in whole or in part will receive academic credit for the equivalent courses within their selected field of study at The University of Texas at Arlington.
