Brief biographical statement from the selection year

Jean McSweeney RN%2C BSN%2C

Jean C. McSweeney, PhD, RN, FAHA, FAAN ‘83 holds an M.S. in nursing from the UT Arlington College of Nursing. She currently holds an appointment as professor and associate dean for research at the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences, where she teaches in the doctoral program. She is a nationally known nurse scientist whose work has changed cardiovascular health care for women.  Awards include the highest honor given by the American Heart Association Council on Cardiovascular Nursing -The Katharine A. Lambright Award. She is currently one of four nurses who serve on the National Institute of Nursing Research Advisory Council.

Dr. McSweeney is a fellow in both the American Heart Association and the American Academy of Nursing.
