Annual Giving
Every gift you make to UT Arlington and the College of Nursing matters—every year. Annual contributions are crucial to furthering our progress toward becoming a major national research university. They help us transform students’ lives, push the boundaries of knowledge, and serve those around us.
Annual gifts to the Dean’s Fund for the area of greatest need make an immediate impact on the College of Nursing.
For scholarship support, annual gifts of $1,000 fund one Dream Makers Scholarship. Awarded at the annual Dream Makers Scholarship Luncheon, they make a significant difference in the lives of many of our students. In addition, donors who give annual gifts of $1000 and more are recognized by membership in the 1895 Society.
Annual designated donations benefit specific areas or programs. For example-
- Undergraduate Programs (BSN and RN-to-BSN)
- Masters of Science in Nursing (MSN)
- Nursing Administration, Nurse Practitioner, Nursing Education
- PhD
- DNP
- Centers and Innovations

Gift and Estate Planning
When making changes to your estate plan, UT Arlington encourages you to consider ways to continue the support you have given during your life, through a bequest.
There are many options that allow you to support the work of the University while providing for the future of family and friends. You can make a specific bequest of a sum of money or item of property, a percentage bequest of your estate or residue, or a contingent bequest in the event your primary beneficiary is no longer alive.
You can also name the University, its colleges, schools, programs or departments as beneficiary of your retirement account or the beneficiary of life insurance. It is even possible to reserve income for life for you during life and for your family members.
To find out about different estate gift opportunities, contact Debra Purviance, Director of Gift Planning, at 817-272-1080 or purviance@uta.edu . Through your estate gift, you can say a very generous and tangible “yes” to the future of UT Arlington.

Maverick Match
Double your investment and accelerate your impact through this innovative matching program designed to bolster the University’s endowment. The Maverick Match leverages UT Arlington’s natural gas royalty funds to support outstanding students who will become tomorrow’s leaders and faculty research that explores solutions to today’s most urgent problems.
We match, dollar for dollar, donations of $25,000 or more to create or add to endowments. Funds are placed in the endowment at the end of each fiscal year, matching your annual contributions to that fund. Pledges must be paid within five years. Corporate matching funds are eligible for the Maverick Match. For example, if you contribute $2,500 a year for five years and your employer matches that gift for five years, $25,000 will be generated for the endowment. This gift qualifies for $25,000 from the Maverick Match, bringing the fund total to $50,000.
Endowments are an investment in UT Arlington’s future and provide ongoing funding for critical initiatives while growing to keep pace with inflation. The principal of the endowment fund—the corpus—is never spent. By establishing an endowment that qualifies for the Maverick Match, you invest in the legacy of UT Arlington and the College of Nursing while ensuring that your gift maximizes its impact and advances the University’s goal of becoming a major national research institution.
Gifts-in-Kind
We will put your gift-in-kind to immediate use or convert them to cash. Gifts-in-kind may include donations of property such as real estate, works of art, books, equipment, furnishings, software, licensing, and more. These non-cash gifts of tangible personal property can make a world of difference in our quest to create new knowledge and shape the minds of future leaders.
