As Associate Dean for Research and Director of the Center for Nursing Research, I provide a broad array of services that support faculty scholarship. In my role as Research Consultant, I provide similar services one day a week to nursing staff and administration at Parkland Health & Hospital System. As Associate, Center for Hispanic Students in Nursing and Health, I provide consultation on research sponsored by the Center.

Current Research

  • Pathways to Success - an abstinence education Program, Arlington Independent School District, funded by the Texas Department of Health.
  • Partners in action for teen health - funded by the Office of Adolescent Pregnancy Programs, Office of Population Affairs, US Public Health Service, DHHS.
  • Medication adherence among indigent elderly ambulatory care patients.
  • Health literacy: Reading and understanding prescription labels.
