I joined UTA School of Nursing in
December 2005. My career has been a journey, not a destination, influenced
by family moves and a joy in lifelong learning. The firm foundations have
always been a passion for professional nursing, a strong belief that healing
occurs in the context of relationship, and a desire to create healthy work
environments. My clinical practice was in obstetrics and oncology with a
focus on hospice care. I have held part time nurse faculty positions at the
University of Maryland, Villanova; Mercy College of Detroit (now U of D
Mercy) and, most recently at Oakland University in the Healthcare Executive
MBA program. Acting as internal consultant to personal and organizational
renewal and transformation within a large multi-hospital system was my joy
for the 12 years before moving to Texas. I love traveling with my husband,
especially to be with our children and grandchildren, entertaining, music
and reading. I am a member of the NTONE, and Sigma Theta Tau International.
