| It was only after I became a
NNP that I realized the importance of nursing in the care and outcome of the
patient. Bedside nurses are the eyes, ears, noses, and mouths for our
patients. I value them and respect the job they do now more than ever.
I love advanced practice nursing. I have
enjoyed over 16 years of advanced practice nursing and feel privileged to
have had the opportunity to be a pioneer (and sometimes a guinea pig) in my
area of advanced practice, neonatal. Infants and children are our future. I
feel God has given us a special gift, a small part of Him to care for and I
take that "calling" very seriously.
However, my greatest "calling" has been as
a mother of 3 wonderful children and 8 grandchildren. This is the greatest
gift of all. How blessed it is to be alive and well.
