I joined the faculty at UTA School of Nursing in January 2001. Beginning in the Fall Semester 2009, I was named Director of the Nursing Administration Program. I hold a part-time liaison position as Nurse Researcher at Texas Health Resources Harris Methodist Fort Worth Hospital (THFW) (a designated Magnet Facility). In that capacity I serve to enhance the research skills of clinical nurses and facilitate/coordinate the approval process of research projects for nursing. In addition, I serve as the Chairperson for the Institutional Review Board for UT Arlington, and am a member of PRIM&R.

My previous clinical work experiences include critical care (in staff and manager roles) and long term care (as nurse administrator). Outside of the clinical setting, I have experience as a consultant for nurse staffing and scheduling programs, including computerized systems; and director of sales and marketing for point-of-care computer systems designed to automate nursing documentation. My recreational activities include traveling with my husband in our motor home, visiting with the many friends we have made during our travels, hiking, and spending time with our children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. I am a member of TNA, ANA, TONE, AONE, as well as Sigma Theta Tau International and Phi Kappa Phi Honor Societies.
