Grades/Grading/Progression
 

  Incomplete Grades Please refer to the latest University catalog www.uta.edu/catalog
  70% Rule Exams/Individual written assignments for progression and rounding policy On all tests, the grades are rounded to two decimal places (i.e., 85.679=85.68)
  • For the final course grade there will be no rounding (i.e., 89.67=B, 69.99=D)
  • A final course grade of C or better is required in all nursing courses to pass
  C average in major field for graduation See Undergraduate catalog (www.uta.edu/catalog)
  Dropping Courses See University catalog (www.uta.edu/catalog) and information elsewhere in this handbook
  Progression in the Nursing Program Students in the BSN program will not be permitted to continue in the nursing program nor to enroll for additional nursing courses if they:
  1. Receive a grade of D or F in more than one required nursing course, or
  2. Receive any combination of grades of D or F on two attempts of the same course, or
  3. Do not obtain a passing score on the HESI Comprehensive Exam (this is not a requirement for the RN to BSN program)

The University grade replacement policy does not apply to nursing courses. The School of Nursing policy takes precedence over the UT Arlington policy.

Students are responsible for confirming whether they are eligible to continue in the School of Nursing. An ineligible student who nevertheless registers in the School shall be dropped, and the student shall not receive special considerations on a plea of lack of knowledge of scholastic status.

  Graduation All requirements for graduation eligibility must be met in order to walk the stage for graduation.
  Grade Replacement See University catalog www.uta.edu/catalog
The University grade replacement policy does not apply to nursing courses. The School of Nursing policy takes precedence over the University policy.
