A typical day during your one week cultural immersion begins with "Buenos Dias" breakfast with your family while in Cuernavaca.

  • Buenos Dias - Breakfast with Family
  • 8:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m. Culture and language study
  • 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. Main meal with family
  • 4:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. Field trips, cultural tours, shopping
  • Evening - Social activities; time on your own; Buenas Noches

Option to extend: 1 week additional study - tuition, board and room $392 USD

FACULTY: Faculty at the Universidad Internacional (Center for Bilingual Multicultural Studies) in Cuernavaca are credentialed Spanish language teachers. Visit the University website for more information about the school and their nursing program
PRIMARY TOUR DIRECTOR: Wendy J. Barr, PhD, RN, CNE is a Clinical Associate Professor in Nursing at The University of Texas at Arlington College of Nursing and Co-Director of the Center for Hispanic Studies in Nursing and Health. Dr. Barr received a BSN from Loyola University, Chicago; an MS from The University of Massachusetts in Amherst and a PhD in Nursing From Texas Woman's University, Denton, TX. She has been involved with Travel, Study Learn in Cuernavaca, Mexico for 14 years. ALTERNATE TOUR DIRECTOR: Mary Lou Bond, PhD, RN, CNE, ANEF, FAAN is a Professor in Nursing at The University of Texas at Arlington College of Nursing and Co-Director of the Center for Hispanic Studies in Nursing and Health. Dr. Bond received a BSN from Texas Christian University; an MN from the University of Pittsburgh, and a PhD in nursing from The University of Texas at Austin. She has studied, lived and practiced professional nursing and nurse-midwifery in Puerto Rico and Mexico.
