What
is a pinning ceremony?
-
A pinning ceremony is an
intimate celebration/reception with your family and friends.
The ceremony is student-organized and financed, as each
class is responsible for planning, coordinating, and funding
their ceremony.
-
Pinning provides each
undergraduate student with the opportunity to walk across the
stage and be “pinned’ by family members, friends, or
significant others while a thank you message (written by each
student) is read by the narrator and the student’s picture
is displayed to the audience.
-
During the ceremony, a class
video is shown which includes clinical and classroom pictures
of class members. This
slide presentation is produced by the SON’s own Learning
Resource Center.
-
The graduating class lines up
on stage as a class to recite the nursing pledge at the end of
the ceremony.
-
Pinning is a wonderful way to
celebrate your entry into a professional nursing career.
