Final Exam Schedule

RN to BSN Information

Fall 2008 -- Returning BSN Students are expected to submit written documentation of the following clinical requirements valid for the entire academic semester (through December 2, 2008):

  • CPR for Healthcare Providers: BCLS with AED Certification from the American Heart Association (preferred course) OR Professional Rescuer +AED from American Red Cross (accepted course)
  • Hepatitis B Vaccine Requirements (series of 3 injections completed or IN PROGRESS as JR I or JR II) OR
  • §Results of Hepatitis B Surface Antibody titer that demonstrates immunity achieved

  • HepB Series Injection Schedule:

    • §1st injection when notified of UTA School of Nursing Admission; 2nd injection w/in 1 month of injection one 3rd injection within 4 – 6 months of injection one

Documentation of Immunization or Immunity Titer for:

  • Negative PPD with results reported as negative and size in mms induration (TB Skin Test required ANNUALLY) OR Negative Chest X-ray Report within one year of admission to UTA SON for Positive PPD and results in mms induration with follow-up treatment according to physician.
  • MMR (Measles, Mumps and Rubella) 2 immunizations or history of exposure (CDC guidelines recommend 2 vaccines if born after 1957)
  • Chicken Pox (history of exposure or evidence of immunization)
  • Tetanus Booster within the last 10 years
  • Completion of DFW Hospital Council Standard Student Clinical Orientation and 100% on post-test (during JR I or SR I Clinical Orientation) to be completed annually

Students who have not been cleared for clinical requirements by June 30, 2008 will not receive clinical assignments via the UTA School of Nursing Student Bulletin Board, nor be permitted to participate in clinical until clinical requirements are met.

If your CPR Certification or clinical requirements expire DURING the Fall 2008 Semester, you are expected to renew prior to the start of the semester.

Clinical Assignment Postings

Clinical Assignments for returning BSN students are posted on the UTA SON Student Bulletin Board and on the 6th floor in the SON (outside Room 650). Only those students who have been cleared for clinicals will be included on this list. If your name does not appear or is highlighted, please check with Mrs. Holly Woods in PKH 650.
