History

The Off-Campus Mavericks program was created in Fall 2010 to address the needs of off-campus students at UT Arlington. The program was designed to help off-campus students forge a stronger connection to campus life so that all UT Arlington students can find a way to become involved and engaged on campus.

Off-Campus Mavericks values and appreciates commuter students in a number of ways. Off-campus students now have a physical location on campus to call their own. The Off-Campus Mavericks Center was opened in August 2010 to be a home away from home for commuting students. The OCM Center provides a physical connection to campus life that boasts a technologically advanced and enriching educational environment for our commuter students, providing all of the comforts of home, such as free coffee and a microwave to keep you on the go during the day. Visit the Off-Campus Mavericks Center, located in the MAC on the first floor, and connect with other Off-Campus Mavericks like yourself!

In addition to a physical space on campus, the Off-Campus Mavericks program offers programs and activities to connect off-campus students with other students. “Like” our facebook page to stay connected to programs and get announcements. Sign up for the newsletter (email offcampus@uta.edu with the subject line “newsletter”) to get information about upcoming events and topics of interest sent directly to your email. Finally, visit the Off-Campus Mavericks Center to take part in all that the Off-Campus Mavericks program and community has to offer.
