UPDATE: President Trump Signs New Travel Executive Order
 On March 6, 2017, President Trump signed an Executive Order effective March 16, 2017, impacting certain
individuals seeking entry to the U.S. who are from Iran, Syria, Libya, Somalia, Sudan, and Yemen.
The Executive Order does not apply to individuals who are within the United States on the effective date of the Order
or to those individuals who hold a valid visa. However, international students and scholars from the six affected countries
or traveling to these countries are strongly encouraged to seek guidance from an OIE advisor prior to international travel. Information and Resources

Scholarships / Loans » Tuition Assistance for Mexican Students

The Tuition Assistance for Mexican Students (TAMS) scholarship sometimes known as “The Mexican Pilot Program” and also referred to as PASE ( Programa de Asistencia Estudiantil) provides a waiver of the non-resident portion of a student's tuition bill for qualified students. TAMS  is not a cash award. To be eligible for TAMS, you must be a citizen and resident of Mexico who demonstrates financial need. This is a competitive process as the number of awards allotted per semester is limited.  The TAMS is available to new and continuing students who demonstrate financial need.

Selection Criteria

  1. Citizen or permanent resident of Mexico
  2. Legally present in the United States
  3. Plan to return to Mexico immediately after completing your educational program
  4. Must be full-time enrolled
    • 12 hrs undergraduate
    • 9 hrs graduate
    • Unless fewer hours are needed for graduation
  5. Demonstrates financial need and is unable to pay the non-resident tuition rate
