IEW is a joint initiative of the U.S. Department of State and the U.S. Department of Education to celebrate international education and exchange worldwide. UTA is celebrating IEW with a full range of events, including:
Fulbright-Clinton Fellowship Presentation – Monday, Nov. 18, UH 14, 3-4pm
Fulbright-Clinton Fellowships offer opportunities for professional placements in foreign government ministries or institutions. Fellows gain hands-on public sector experience in participating foreign countries while simultaneously carrying out an academic study/research project.

Fulbright Research/Study Grant Presentation – Wednesday, Nov. 20, TH 200, 12-1pm
Fulbright Research/Study Grants provides funding for individually designed study/research projects in an applicant’s field. Grant lengths and dates vary by country.

Stop by and learn about global volunteer opportunities with the U.S. Peace Corps.
U.S. Peace Corps Presentation – Wednesday, Nov. 20, Guadalupe, UC, 5:30pm
Come learn how you can make a difference as an international volunteer with the U.S. Peace Corps. Hear stories from Returned Peace Corps Volunteers and find out how to apply!
Fulbright English Teaching Assistantship Presentation– Thursday, Nov. 21, UH 205, 11am-noon
Fulbright English Teaching Assistantships place awardees in a classroom abroad to provide assistance to teachers of English to non-native English-speakers. English Teaching Assistants help teach English language while serving as cultural ambassadors for U.S. culture.
Global Grounds: International Coffee Hour – Thursday, Nov. 21, Palo Duro Lounge, UC, 4-5:30pm
The International Coffee Hour is held every other Thursday in the Palo Duro Lounge and is a great way to meet and mingle with friends from around the world. Come sip Chai, coffee, or your favorite tea and enjoy a variety of both local and imported light snacks. Those who attend are welcome to invite their friends and bring contemporary as well as traditional music from their home country. Hosted by UTA Women’s Soccer.
World Trivia Night – Thursday, Nov. 15, UC Palo Duro Lounge, 6-7pm
Create a team of 4 or 5 with your friends and test your knowledge with fun questions about different countries and culture. There will be prizes for the winning teams. Register online here.
Fulbright Research/Study Grants in the Arts Presentation– Friday, Nov. 22, UH 205, 10-11am
Fulbright Research/Study Grants in the Arts provides funding for individually designed study/research projects in the creative and performing arts. Applicants will submit supplementary materials based on their disciplines.
