International Education Week 2006

Power to Change the World
Following the One Book theme, the Office of International Education has chosen the theme Power to Change the World as the theme of International Education Week 2006. November 13th-17th is the seventh annual International Education Week, a joint initiative of the U.S. Department of State and the U.S. Department of Education, and provides an opportunity to celebrate the benefits of international education and to participate in programs that prepare Americans for a global environment.

UTA study abroad students display photos from around the world with commentary on their overseas experiences.

Tuesday, Nov. 14
Global Simulation Workshop: The World Game
Rio Grande Ballroom, UC 3-6pm
An innovative program that teaches players about global issues while building valuable critical and analytical skills. For three hours, up to 100 students in a single room will simulate the world's economy over the next 30 years. Played out on a 50 x 80 foot map, teams trade the world's resources and try to find solutions to its most urgent problems. Players will gain a vivid "big picture" view of the world that will help them put their own lives and work into a global perspective.

Sergio Espinosa conducts the UTA Symphony Orchestra in music from a variety of countries and cultures.

Join us for coffee, chai and light snacks while improving your Global IQ.
