Work abroad opportunities
Although UTA does not directly offer work abroad opportunities, UTA students can utilize programs offered through the Council on International Educational Exchange (CIEE or Council) or the British Universities North America Club (BUNAC). These programs help students to obtain a work permit, deal with the governmental paperwork involved in working as a foreigner and provide a network to help students find a job once they are abroad.
CIEE offers work abroad opportunities in France, Ireland, Canada, Germany, New Zealand and Costa Rica. These opportunities range from 3 to 6 months and are offered at varying times throughout the year. Applications are available in the International Office. For more information visit the Council Work Abroad website.
BUNAC arranges for work opportunities in; Great Britain, Australia, Canada and New Zealand. BUNAC helps to provide the necessary paperwork for employment (length of employment varies from country to country) in these countries. BUNAC's website provides more details concerning the program.
If you want to work abroad, it is best to use a service like one of these. Simply going abroad and looking for a job will cause you great headaches, could get you into legal trouble in the host country and may not result in your finding employment.
