Position Title: Vice President, Chief Information Officer

Organizational Unit: Information Technology

Position Summary: Vice President for Information Technology and Chief Information Officer (CIO) with over thirty years experience of information technology services, with 26 years at UT Arlington.

Description:

After earning her bachelor’s degree at the University of Texas at Austin in Mathematics and French with a minor in Computer Science, Suzanne spent 10 years in the corporate world as an IT professional before settling at the University of  Texas at Arlington in 1982. During her 26 years at UT Arlington, she has devoted her time to IT support of the campus starting as a programmer/analyst and expanding her role and responsibilities to match increasing needs.  In 1992, she earned her Master of Business Administration from UT Arlington with a  concentration in Information Systems. She has served the university as Vice President for Information Technology and CIO since 2003 with primary roles and responsibilities of IT leadership and support for the campus. During her tenure at UT Arlington, she has been a proud participant of many successful projects, with highlights of the recent PeopleSoft implementation, the creation of a UT System Regional Data Center which houses multiple UT institutions in addition to UT Arlington, and the formation of the LoneStar Education and Research Network to support higher education network needs across the state of Texas.

Suzanne grew up in Dallas, Texas. After graduating from college, she spent time in San Diego California and Fayetteville North Carolina before returning to Texas. She has two sons and a daughter, all currently residing in the Dallas/Fort Worth area. She is a huge fan of UT Arlington and looks forward to supporting its continued growth and importance in the higher education market.
