Creating and Publishing Web Pages

The University is implementing a Web Content Management System for its Web site which will provide the foundation for simpler and less-costly Web redesigns and updates for all campus departments in the future. Find out more from University Communications.
Enterprise e-mail is provided to all UT Arlington faculty and staff upon activation of their NetID. The service is provided by the Microsoft Exchange E-mail server. The officially supported means to access UT ARLINGTON e-mail is with either the Microsoft Outlook e-mail client on the Windows platform, Microsoft Entourage on the MacOS platform, or via the Microsoft Exchange Web interface with a compliant Web browser.
File Storage
Files on Network Drives are accessible from on- and off- campus and are backed up every night. You have 500Mb of storage on MavSpace, 160 Mb on your J: drive, and 100 Mb in your web publishing folder. When using computers in the OIT labs, you must save your files on the network drives; files saved on the hard drives are automatically deleted. For more information see File Storage and Sharing. HPC facilitates research projects in various disciplines including computational chemistry, molecular modeling, solid state physics, computational fluid dynamics, and finite element modeling.

Linux Servers: Omega and Gamma
We provide support for most industry-standard computing platforms, including Microsoft Windows Server and Red Hat Enterprise Linux. We support the enterprise computing infrastructure of the university including centralized authentication and authorization services, electronic mail, university web sites, file and print servers, and numerous application and database systems.
MavMail (Student E-Mail System)
The University of Texas at Arlington is pleased to announce a new e-mail service for students. Major improvements to this service includes large capacity e-mail as well as on-line storage to share files, photos, and communicate with friends. Another outstanding benefit of the new service is its availability to students after graduation.

MavSpace is a web resource for publishing and file storage for students, faculty, and staff at The University of Texas at Arlington.

NetID Request (faculty/staff only)
UT Arlington provides a computer account referred to as a "NetID." The NetID allows access to UT Arlington computing resources. Manage your NetID Password
Network Connections
ResNet allows connecting from a campus dorm or apartment with Network connectivity. Wireless access is available throughout the campus. VPN Establishes a secure tunnel (connection) to UT Arlington network from outside.
Blackboard (Online Course Delivery System)
Blackboard is a web-based e-learning environment. In this virtual classroom professors can post lectures, class notes, assignments, grades, online quizzes and more. It facilitates communication between faculty and students via integrated email, chat and bulletin boards.
