SSH Secure Shell Client
- After downloading and installing SSH Secure Shell for Workstations 3.2.9, you should have 2 icons on your Desktop. The SSH Secure Shell Client (equivalent to Telnet) and the SSH Secure File Transfer Client (equivalent to FTP). Double-click the SSH Secure Shell Client icon.
- From the main SSH Secure Shell window, click on Quick Connect.
- For Host Name: enter the name of the UNIX server you wish to connect to. In this example, we are using omega.uta.edu. For User Name: enter your UNIX username for the same server you entered as Host. Port Number: should be 22. Set Authentication Method: to Password and then click Connect.
- Upon connecting you should receive a "Message from the server". Click OK.
- You should now connected to the UNIX server you specified as Host. To end your session, click on the Disconnect icon.
- You will be asked to confirm disconnect. Click OK to disconnect from the server.
