Nancy Rowe - Statistical Consultant

Who is Nancy Rowe?
Nancy has been on the staff of the Office of Information Technology (OIT) since 1987 - ten of those years as the Manager of User Services. Her work has centered around applying the tools of mathematics, statistics, computers, and computer software to assist faculty, staff, and students in their research efforts. She now is Manager of Statistical Services.
What is Nancy's Background?
Nancy has training in mathematics, statistics, and computer applications such as FORTRAN, SAS, and SPSS. Before coming to UT Arlington, she taught mathematics at the college level and served as a FORTRAN consultant.
What is Nancy's Educational Background?
Nancy has a Bachelor of Arts with Honors in Mathematics and Political Science from Phillips University in Enid, Oklahoma. She has a Master of Science degree in Mathematics from Texas Christian University in Fort Worth, Texas and a Ph.D. through the Mathematics Department at The University of Texas at Arlington. Her research area is Mathematical Statistics.

How do I request help from Nancy?
The best way to use Nancy's services is to talk with her as you begin your research project. (see Preparing to Meet with Consultant) Call Nancy's office (817)272-5021 to set up an appointment to discuss your project. She will help you develop a plan to collect your data and show you how to enter it into a computer in a way that will make it easiest to extract the information you want using statistical software. She also will help you develop a plan to analyze the data that you collect and help you analyze the data after it has been entered in the computer.
Nancy also will help you if you run into problems as you do your research. (see Preparing to Meet with Consultant) She can help with your computer problems and help you navigate the complicated world of statistics and statistical software.
