The installation instructions on this page are only for a university owned machine that is running Mac OS X. If you have an older version of Mac OS, please contact the Help Desk to have your computer upgraded.

This software is for use on UT Arlington assets only and is not intended for personal/home use on computers that are owned by a student, facility, or staff. 

Click on the link below to download the latest version of Symantec Antivirus. Login using your UT Arlington NetID and password if prompted.

Symantec Antivirus 10 for Mac OS 10

1. double-click the file you have downloaded.

2. Click Continue and Agree on Introduction and License Agreement windows.

            

3. When prompted click Agree on License Agreement window.

   

4. Select your hard drive as the destination volume and click Continue and then Install.

     

5. Type your NetID and password if presented with a login window and click OK.

   

6. Click Continue Installation whenever prompted.  You will see different installation progress windows.  Do not close them.  Your computer will need to be connected to the Internet in order for LiveUpdate to run properly.

     

7. Click Logout when prompted to finish the installation process. Your computer will automatically reboot.

   

8. Symantec will begin scanning your computer once the computer reboots.
