Question: How do I get software installed in a lab for a class I teach?
Please review our software installation request page.
Question: If I want to get software installed in one of the labs who pays for it?
If it serves a large number of people at UT Arlington then OIT will seek funding for the software. If the software directly serves a limited number of people then the group will need to seek it's own funding. Please see the Funding Lab Software Request Policy to learn more.
Question: Can I print from my laptop?
Yes, please visit Laptop Printing in the Labs. This service is new and OIT would appreciate any and all feedback emailed to HelpDesk.
Question: How do I print to a lab printer from UNIX (omega/gamma)?
To print a file (text and postscript files), enter the following command:
lprint -Pqueue_name filename
Each system has a default print queue. To determine the default print queue for your system, issue command "lpstat -s".
