Description:
"UTA Wireless Setup" provides access to XpressConnect, an automatic configuration utility that will configure your system to connect to the UTA wireless network.
This page provides a step-by-step guide to using XpressConnect for setup of a wireless connection under Mac OS X 10.4 and assumes several things:
- You have an 802.11a/b/g compatible wireless network adapter (AirPort) and it has been properly installed (Turned On).
- You have a fair understanding of the Mac OS X 10.4 operating system.
How to Use:
- Click on the Apple button in the top left corner of the screen and select System Preferences.
- From System Preferences select Network.
- From the Show: drop-down menu, select Airport.
- From the By default, join: drop-down menu, select Preferred networks.
- Click "+".
- In the Network Name drop-down menu, enter UTAwireless Setup and click OK.
- Click Apply Now.
- Open a web browser (such as Mozilla Firefox (http://getfirefox.com) and you should be greeted with the welcome page. (It may take a short while for the connection to come up. If you get a "not connected to the Internet" error message, just keep trying to open any webpage until the welcome screen appears.)
- Click the check box to accept the EULA, then click Start >.
- Click Trust to accept the Cloudpath Networks, Inc. certificate.
- Choose either UTA Auto Login or UTA Web Login, then click Continue >.
For "UTA Auto Login":
- Enter your NetID and password in the 802.1x window, then click Connect.
- Click Continue in the 802.1x Authentication Verify Certificate window.
- Enter a name for this configuration in the Save As: box in the 802.1X window, and click Save.
- If necessary, click Retry to finish the connection process. You should now be redirected to the OIT Computer Usage Policy web page.
- Click Done in the XpressConnect window to exit the XpressConnect application.
For "UTA Web Login":
- The "UTA Web Login" Wireless Network Login page should open in a new window.
- Enter your NetID and password and click Submit.
- If necessary, click Retry to finish the connection process. You should now be redirected to the OIT Computer Usage Policy web page.
- Click Done in the XpressConnect window to exit the XpressConnect application.
