XpressConnect for Mac OS X 10.5

Description:

"UTA Wireless Setup" provides access to XpressConnect, an automatic configuration utility that will configure your system to connect to the UTA wireless network.

This page provides a step-by-step guide for setup of a wireless connection under Mac OS X 10.5 and assumes several things:

• You have an 802.11a/b/g compatible wireless network adapter (AirPort) and it has been properly installed (Turned On).
• You have a fair understanding of the Mac OS X 10.5 operating system.

How to Use:

1. Click on the Apple button in the top left corner of the screen and select System Preferences.
2. From System Preferences select Network.
3. From the interface window on the left, click Airport to select Airport settings.
4. From the Network Name drop-down menu, select UTAwireless Setup and click Apply.
5. Open a web browser (such as Safari, or Mozilla Firefox (http://getfirefox.com). You should be greeted with the welcome page (It may take a short while for the connection to come up. If you get a "not connected to the Internet" error message, just keep trying to open any webpage until the welcome screen appears).
6. Click the check box to accept the EULA, then click Start >.
7. Choose either UTA Auto Login or UTA Web Login, then click Continue >.

For "UTA Auto Login":

1. Enter your NetID and password in the XpressConnect window, then click Continue >.
2. If necessary, enter your Mac Computer Admin Account & Password in the pop-up window, and click OK.
3. Click Continue in the 802.1x Authentication Verify Certificate window.
4. If necessary, click Retry to finish the connection process. You should now be redirected to the OIT Computer Usage Policy  web page.
5. Click Done in the XpressConnect window to exit the XpressConnect application.

For "UTA Web Login":

1. Enter your NetID and password in the XpressConnect window, then click Continue >.
2. If necessary, enter your Mac Computer Admin Account & Password in the pop-up window, and click OK.
3. The "UTA Web Login" Wireless Network Login page should open in a new window.
4. Enter your NetID and password and click Submit.
5. You should now be redirected to the OIT Computer Usage Policy web page.
6. Click Done in the XpressConnect window to exit the XpressConnect application.

Known Issues: Failed to Open Page - Not connected to the Internet (Mac OS)
