XpressConnect for Windows Vista

Description:

"UTA Wireless Setup" provides access to XpressConnect, an automatic configuration utility that will configure your system to connect to the UTA wireless network.

This document provides a step-by-step guide to using XpressConnect for setup of a wireless connection under Windows Vista and assumes several things:

• You have an 802.11a/b/g compatible wireless network adapter and it has been properly installed;
• You have a fair understanding of the Windows Vista operating system;
• You have a clean default installation of Windows Vista.

How to Use:

1. Click the Windows button and click the Connect To button. 
2. Click on "UTAwireless Setup" and click Connect (then click Connect Anyway in the warning popup).
3. Close the "Connect to a network" window.
4. Open a web browser. You should be greeted with the welcome page in a new window.
5. Click the check box to accept the EULA, then click Start >.
6. Click Run in the Warning - Security window, if it appears.
7. In the XpressConnect application window, choose either UTA Auto Login or UTA Web Login, then click Continue >.

8. For "UTA Auto Login":

   1. If you want to be automatically connected at startup, leave the Automatically submit credentials box checked; otherwise, uncheck the box.
   2. Enter your NetID and password , then click Continue >.
   3. Click on the popup bubble requesting additional information to continue with the automatic setup, if necessary.
   4. You should now be redirected to the OIT Computer Usage Policy web page.
   5. Click Done in the XpressConnect window to exit the XpressConnect application.

   For "UTA Web Login":

   1. Enter your NetID and password , then click Continue >.
   2. If necessary, click Retry to finish the connection process.
   3. The "UTA Web Login" Wireless Network Login page should open in a new window.
   4. Enter your NetID and password and click Submit.
   5. You should now be redirected to the OIT Computer Usage Policy web page.
   6. Click Done in the XpressConnect window to exit the XpressConnect application.
