Description:
Many UTA faculty, staff, and students are interested in Smartphones in order to take advantage of e-mail and Internet access. Due to the fact that vendor product lines change on a regular basis, it is difficult to recommend and/or support the wide range of products. We can help by providing vendors and products that have worked in the past, although there are many different devices and service plans which change frequently, making it difficult to stay current.
We can recommend some basic guidelines:

Choose a Windows Mobile 5 or 6 device

Get an unlimited data plan

If possible get an escape clause in your contract to protect you in the event that the device does not work with UTA network as expected
OIT Support is limited due to the wide range of products and their differences. We will work to help with ActiveSync in the following ways:
