Obtaining and Installing ANSYS 12.1 Software and License (Windows)

Description:
The instructions on this page are for university owned machines only that have "Property of UT Arlington" asset tags, also referred to as UTA assets in this document. These are typical faculty/staff office computers that are connected to the UTA network. Depending on the purpose of using this software, you need to select proper license after you start ANSYS. Click here for instructions how to select license.
Please contact our Help Desk for instructions on how to obtain ANSYS for computer labs utilizing an imaged based deployment, such as SCCM OSD.
How to Get:
Authorized Personnel may click Start > Run and type the path to the software's resource files:
\\...\ansys\12.1\Windows\32bit\setup.exe
and click OK.
How to Use:

Click Install Required Prerequisites button then Install Products button when the installation program starts.

Administrator account is required to install ANSYS software. If you get the following screen, please logoff and logon with an account with administrator privileges and following screen prompts.

Click I Agree radio button to acknowledge the license and click Next.

Check the "Skip this step..." box and Next to continue if you don't already have Pro/Engineer installed.

Check the "Skip this step..." box and Next to continue if you don't already have Unigraphics installed.

Verify license file dates, click Next after verification is complete.

Review settings and click Next to begin installing the program files.

Product installation will now run, click Next Check the "Skip this step..." box and Next to continue.

Licensing Installation Log: After process is complete click Exit.

The license port number should be pre-filled with 1055. Do not change this number unless it is not 1055. Enter lm-ansys12.uta.edu for the license server name and click OK to continue.

Licensing Installation Log: once complete click Exit to continue.

- Click Finish to end licensing process. Your ANSYS software is now properly licensed. Learn how to check out proper Teaching or Research license by clicking here.
