Obtaining and Installing FLUENT software and Licenses (Windows)

Description:

The instructions on this page are for university owned machines only that have "Property of UT Arlington" asset tags, also referred to as UTA assets in this document.  These are typical faculty/staff office computers that are connected to the UTA network. Please contact our Help Desk for instructions on how to obtain FLUENT for computer labs utilizing an imaged based deployment, such as Symantec Ghost.

How to Get:

Click Start > Run an type the network path to the file Fluent_install-ntx86-6.3.26.exe and click OK.

How to Use:

  1. Click Start > Run and type the network path to the file Fluent_install-ntx86-6.3.26.exe and click OK.

  2. Click Next at the Setup Wizard dialog box.
    Welcome screen, click Next

  3. Click the I accept the terms in the license agreement radio button and click Next.

  4. Click Next to accept the default installation directory.

  5. Click Install to start the installation process.  You will be presented with a dialog box stating that Fluent will drop support for Windows 2000. Click OK.

  6. Click Next to continue.
    Click Next after installation completed

  7. Click Finish to run Client License Setup Wizard.
    Click Finish

  8. Enter lm-ansys12.uta.edu for the FLUENT license server name. Do not change the port number, which should be pre-filled with 7241. Click Install to continue.

  9. Click Finish to end FLUENT software installation. Visit FLUENT Documentation page to install FLUENT documentation.

    Click Finish
