The IBM SPSS Statistics Standard Edition offers the core statistical procedures business managers and analysts need to address fundamental business and research questions. This software provides tools that allow users to quickly view data, formulate hypotheses for additional testing, and carry out procedures to clarify relationships between variables, create clusters, identify trends and make predictions.
The IBM SPSS Statistics Standard edition includes the following key capabilities:
- Linear models offer a variety of regression and advanced statistical procedures designed to fit the inherent characteristics of data describing complex relationships.
- Nonlinear models provide the ability to apply more sophisticated models to data.
- Simulation capabilities help analysts automatically model many possible outcomes when inputs are uncertain, improving risk analysis and decision making.
- Customized tables enable users to easily understand their data and quickly summarize results in different styles for different audiences.

Known Issues:
- Please be advised that Modules that have been purchased for older versions of SPSS may not be compatible with this version of SPSS. Please contact IBM
Off Campus Use
There are two possible ways in which a Faculty member may use the UTA licensed version of SPSS off campus.
- A faculty member may perform a vpn connection to the UTA network, and then establish a remote desktop connection to his or her UTA owned campus system that is hosting an installed copy of SPSS.
- Another method that is available to faculty members who possess UTA owned laptops carrying an installed networked licensed copy of SPSS is to borrow a license.

- Installation is permitted to be installed and used on only UTA owned assets.
- Software is intended for the exclusive use of faculty and students for academic or non-commercial research purposes.
- Research means research by degree seeking students and faculty members where the results of the research are not primarily for the benefit of a third party.
- Such results are made available to anyone without restriction of use, copying, or further distribution
- Any copy of any such result is furnished for no more than the cost of hosting, reproduction, and shipping
- Any other use including but not limited to university administration and operations is strictly prohibited.
- Server and Virtual Computer Lab Use is permitted
Obtaining the software
Please contact helpdesk@uta.edu and request installation of SPSS. Please provide: Name, NetID, Operating System (32-bit or 64-bit), UTA asset tag number, and the machine name.

Personal Use
SPSS for personally-owned machines may be purchased from our High education vendor HiEd at http://www.hied.com/utarlington/. Be advised that installing personally purchased software on UTA owned assets is prohibited.
