Install Microsoft Forefront Client Security (FCS)

System requirements: Windows

Description:

Microsoft Forefront Client Security (FCS) is available to home/personal Windows computers of the UTA community.

Non-UTA domain and personal computers can use the installation instructions below at their own risk.

How to Use:

Install Microsoft Forefront Client Security (FCS)

  1. Download FCS. Download will require an active UTA NetID and password (64-bit operating systems should use the 64-bit version).
  2. Open your Downloads folder, or the location to which you saved the download, and double-click the executable file.
  3. Select 'OK' when prompted that the application will be installed. 
    • The installation may take several minutes. During the installation you may see an orange icon icon picture
  4. Select 'OK' when prompted that the installation is complete.
    • Once all updates and definitions for the FEP program have been installed, the system tray icon will change to green.
  5. The installer will open a browser to verify that updates have been installed, run Microsoft Update and click Custom.
  6. Select the Microsoft Forefront Client Security (FCS) update(s).
  7. Click Review and install updates.
  8. Click Install Updates.

Reminder: Once you have installed FCS, you must uninstall any other antivirus products.
