IE 8 Known Issues

Recommended Settings for Trusted Sites

There are many utilities used by faculty, staff, and students on the UTA website. Some examples include MyMav, wikis, blogs, WebCT, and more. The settings below allow these common utilities to work in peak condition.

Session Sharing Problems

Session sharing allows pop-up content to carry over cookies from one window to the next. This can be a problem if you need two windows of the same web application to act independently of the other. In order to accomplish this, you will need to initiate a new session:

  1. Turn on the File menu:
    • Right-click in the IE 8 toolbar area and choose Menu Bar if it doesn't have a check.
  2. From the File menu, select New Session. A new browser window will appear that you can use to run a second, independent instance of the web application.

Accept Mixed Content

At the Security Warning, Do you want to view only the webpage content that was delivered securely, choose No.
