Remove Spybot

Description: Support for SpyBot is no longer provided. This document provides instructions on how to remove all versions of Spybot from UTA machines. In addition, OIT has developed a script to remove Spybot from all UTA assets which will be deployed starting the week of January 12, 2009.
How to Get:
Download the Spybot removal script
How to Use:
- Select Open, and click OK
- Select Run, and click OK
- Click OK
Restart may be required
This script does not impede PC operation.
Known Issues:
- After installation, "<Program Files>\Spybot - Search & Destroy" folder may still exist. This is due to Explorer caching the SDHelper.dll file. If running the uninstaller or manually deleting the folder does not work, rebooting the system should unload the .DLL from memory and allow the user to delete the file/folder.
- Users that had Spybot version 1.5.2 may notice that the Desktop and Quick Launch shortcut icons still exist after uninstalling. Users may either manually delete the icons or manually re-run the Spybot uninstall script provided by OIT.
- Users may be asked to reboot his or her computer when the script is finished.
