Extract the vCM-5.5.0-Linux tar.gz file
For the following instruction steps <path of parent folder> should be the absolute path to the parent folder of InstallCMAgent or the vcm registration script, e.g. /home/useraccountname/Desktop/vCM-5.5.0-Linux-20130607/vCM-Installer/CSIInstall if the installer is located at /home/useraccountname/Desktop/vCM-5.5.0-Linux-20130607/vCM-Installer/CSIInstall/InstallCMAgent
If you know the root password, then in the Terminal application, do a su command and enter the root password and then do <path of parent folder>/InstallCMAgent command
If you do not know the root password, but your account is listed in the sudoers file, then in the Terminal application, do a sudo <path of parent folder>/InstallCMAgent command
If the installation does not result in either a Failure or a prompt to uninstall the agent, then the computer will need to be registered to the vCM server by using one of the downloaded scripts.
The vcm-reg-ecm-02-03 shell script uses the curl command to register your computer, the vcm-curl-install-reg-ecm-02-03 shell script will prompt to install curl if curl is not installed on your computer and then register your computer to the vcm server.
