Major Service Interruption - Beginning at about 10:30 a.m. this morning OIT system administrators reported a problem with a system at the regional data center that has impacted a number of systems and applications including: MyMav, Blackboard, UTA main web site, Self Service, network storage (including J and K drives, ResearchFS and DepartmentFS) campus printing, Listserv.uta.edu, wiki.uta.edu, blog.uta.edu, omega.uta.edu, sharepoint.uta.edu, talk.uta.edu, CS-Gold, ImageNow, Echo360, ITSM. Technicians are aware of the issue and are working to resolve it as quickly as possible.

Update: 3/07/2014 @ 7:30 p.m. – Technicians have restored the ability for users to launch applications. There may be continued service degradation until this issues has been fully resolved. Additional updates will be posted when new developments occur or when this issue has been resolved. 

We are currently experiencing problems with Citrix XenApps. Users are currently unable to launch any applications from XenApps after logging in. Technicians are aware of the issue and are working to resolve it as quickly as possible.

Pharos Printing

Update 3/6/2014 @ 9:15 a.m. – The Pharos print server is back on line and functioning. Printing is available in all computer labs across campus. Technicians will continue to monitor the system this morning.

Update 3/5/2014 @ 9:20 p.m. – While technicians continue to work to resolve the issue with the Pharos server, free printing is now available in campus computer labs.

Update 3/5/2014 @ 5:10 p.m.We continue to experience latency issues with Pharos printing campus-wide.  Support teams are continuing to perform emergency maintenance on the Pharos server.  To accommodate the printing needs of the campus during this process, we will be offering temporary free printing campus-wide.  More information will be provided once the free printing becomes available.

Update 3/5/2014 @ 1:45 p.m.Emergency scheduled maintenance will be performed at 2:00 p.m. on the Pharos server. The server will be unavailable for 10 to 15 minutes while we perform maintenance.

EMail: Student MavMail

Update: 2/28/2014 @ 10:30 P.M. – The O365 student password synchronization issue continues to be addressed by UT-Arlington technicians. In order to resolve this issue Microsoft recommended that a full synchronization be performed. This process has been actively running since Wednesday, February 26th and will take time to complete. Currently estimates indicate that the process should finish up late next week. Please note, this issue is only affecting students who have reset their NetID passwords since 10:30 a.m. Tuesday February 25th and new student email accounts for newly admitted students.  All existing student email accounts with valid passwords will not experience any issues. Those students who have reset their passwords since the date and time indicated can either continue to access their email with their previous NetID password, or they can contact the Help Desk for assistance if necessary.  UT-Arlington technicians are working with Microsoft for a temporary solution for the creation of New student email accounts.  We apologize for the delay and appreciate your patience while we work to resolve this issue as quickly as possible.

Update: 2/27/2014 @ 10:00 A.M. - O365 student password sync issues persist at this time. Technicians have engaged and are working with Microsoft on this issue to resolve it as quickly as possible. We are in the process of rebuilding the synchronization process and the recovery may take some time.       

Update 02/26/2014 @ 4:30 p.m. - The O365 student e-mail password synchronization process remain down at this time. UT-Arlington technicians are actively engaged with Microsoft to get this issue resolved as soon as possible.

We are currently experiencing an issue with O365 student password sync. Clients who have recently reset their NetID passwords might have trouble accessing their email accounts with the new password. Please note this issue will only affect those clients who have reset their NetID password in the past several hours. 01/23/2014 -7:38 P.M. Update: The ClassRev/Echo360 system is now operational and recording devices are back online. Tomorrow, staff will begin the process of reloading content from the beginning of the semester, with the goal of restoring all missing lecture recordings as early as next week. 01/23/2014 -10:45 A.M. Update: ImageNow is back on line and ready to be accessed. Please inform the Help Desk should you have any issues with ImageNow. We are sorry for the inconvenience this outage has caused. We are in the process of analyzing both the cause and permanent solutions to the problem.

01/23/2014 - 8:55 A.M. Update: We are continuing to experience issues with ImageNow and EchoWeb.

EchoWeb - The system suffered a setback last night and brought down for emergency maintenance. The recording devices continued to record while the server was offline. But due to that partial restoration, this caused the recording devices to stop recording. At 4:15 a.m. this morning several of the servers were brought back online. Others server in this system will continue to be restored through the morning. Technicians will be working the problem over the weekend to get missing recordings back online and instructors who have missing recordings will be contacted.

ImageNow - This morning ImageNow will be brought back on line for testing. Please do not attempt to log on.  Any changes that are made during this testing will not be saved.  A message will be sent when the system is back online. Thank you for your patience in this matter.


01/22/2014 - 4:30 P.M. Update: We are continuing to experience issues with ImageNow. Technicians have implemented a plan to restore services as quickly as possible. Due to the nature of the issue we encountered we are expecting an extended recovery time.  Our expectation is that we should have ImageNow services restored by some time tomorrow. Until ImageNow is fully restored, please do not attempt to log into. If you have downtime procedures in place, please revert to those procedures to continue your daily processes as much as possible. We apologize for the inconvenience and appreciate your patience. EchoWeb system issues have been corrected and the system is functioning at this time however, data recovery efforts continue and it is projected that all saved content will not be accessible until sometime tomorrow.

01/22/2014 - 11:35 a.m. Update: HPC Servers and Faculty/Staff and Student J: Drive issues have been resolved. We are still experiencing issues with EchoWeb and ImageNow.
