Information and Services for Departments
- SharePoint (login required with NetID and password)
Every college, school, department, and faculty/staff committee is encouraged to use SharePoint for sharing files, lists, calendars, and other collaborative information. Space is allocated according to the business needs of the group. All information in SharePoint is backed up on a nightly basis, and access to that information is contolled by persons (Site Owners) designated within the group.

Computer Labs for Meetings, Teaching/Training
OIT maintains several computer labs on campus for events such as training classes, exams, or meetings. Departments may also request software be installed in the classrooms using the Software Installation Form.
EMail and Other Enterprise Applications
UT Arlington faculty/staff e-mail, hosted within Microsoft Exchange, may be accessed using Microsoft Outlook or remotely via owa.uta.edu. The address book includes student email addresses, as well as those for faculty and staff.
Other enterprise applications are managed with OIT to support the business processes of UT Arlington. Departments may request departmental or enterprise applications via the OIT Project Request System
Hosting for Departmental Applications and Servers
OIT assists departments to acquire and manage the software and hardware needed for departmental applications. Services include

If your computer or laptop has been stolen or you know of a potential computer crime involving UT Arlington, contact the UT Arlington Police at 817.272.3381.Mandatory information security training is provided to faculty and staff to increase security awareness, meet state and federal initiatives, and help ensure the privacy and integrity of UT Arlington computing networks and systems.
The LISTSERV application may be utilized to create and manage distribution lists used for mass e-mails.
Wireless network connections are available on campus. Additional software, Virtual Private Network (VPN), enables faculty and staff users to connect to UT Arlingtin network resources from off-campus locations.
Statistical Services helps faculty, staff, and students with those aspects of their research that involve the use of statistics and statistical computing.
Scanning and evaluations will be dropped off and picked up in the OIT main office, B51 Davis Hall, where the Production Control office staff will assist you. The actual scanning of forms will take place at Arlington Regional Data Center (ARDC), formerly known as UTACC, in Fort Worth.
Faculty and staff have access to the entire training library at lynda.com, accessible via www.uta.edu/lynda using NetID and password. Training courses within lynda.com include Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Publisher, Access), SharePoint, Visio, web design, and Adobe products, as well as other professional and career topics. On-campus, classroom training is available upon request for MyMav and Cascade Server (CMS).
Departments maintain their own official public websites using Cascade Server, also known as the Content Management System (CMS). Departments may also create websites within CMS for class- and research-related purposes. All of these are considered official UT Arlington websites.
