Mission Statement

The mission of Enterprise Information Services (EIS) is to provide leadership in information technology services by supporting the University’s goals with a proactive, customer service focus. Our mission statement supports the requirements to:

  • Develop and provide comprehensive technical services that support the University’s application and reporting needs
  • Provide support to improve management of university resources through increased productivity and operational effectiveness
  • Assist management in the monitoring and integration of operational units to achieve optimization of the University's primary mission which is the education of students and meaningful faculty research

The EIS team will strive to:

  • Provide quality, on-time deliverables that meet and exceed our customers’ expectations

Responsibilities

  • Provide analysis, design, testing, and implementation for developing and enhancing Enterprise applications (including the Student Information System, Accounting System, and Human Resources System)
  • Support the implementation of the MyMav Student Information System by developing interfaces, data conversion, reports, and modifications
  • Provide support for the existing legacy Enterprise applications on the mainframe
  • Provide database administration for different databases (Oracle, datacom, MS SQL)
  • Deliver information and reporting from our Enterprise applications
  • Deliver Web-enabled and telephone access (SAM) to Enterprise application information
  • Provide interfaces and integration between Enterprise applications and departmental systems
  • Manage and maintain the OIT website
  • Provide leadership in developing campus-wide standards for website development
  • Provide analysis, selection, testing, and implementation support to departmental applications (many of which are 3rd party applications)
