Enterprise Solutions Advisory Committee (ESAC)
Purpose
Provide campus leadership on best enterprise solution choices and their respective enhancements with the best utilization of resources, generating the greatest technology value for UT Arlington.

Members
The CIO will appoint the first Chair after which the Chair will be elected by membership each year. Appointed members are appointed for two years of service, with half being appointed each year

- Provost management representative
- Student Enrollment Services management representative
- Office of Graduate Studies management representative
- Institutional Research and Planning management representative

Non-Voting
Additional representatives will be requested to attend based on topics, including but not limited to:
- Faculty Senate representative
- Campus Operations management representative
- Development management representative
- Communications management representative
- Research management representative
- Library management representative
- Student Affairs management representative
- Chairs of Communities of Practice, as needed
Permanent Non-Voting
- OIT Director of Enterprise Information Services
- OIT Director of Client Services
- OIT Senior Project Manager (as needed)
- Chairs from Communities of Practice, as needed
Roles
Gather input from Communities of Practice and campus community on projects that promote university excellence (except teaching/learning and research) through the utilization of information technology. Based on requests for IT services, the ESAC will prioritize requests and make a recommendation to the ITGC based on satisfaction of university strategic missions and goals.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain a Committee Charter
- Each Advisory Committee chair will submit a report about its activities and issues to the ITGC
- Recommend policies, standards, procedures, and/or guidelines to the IT Governance committee related to enterprise solutions (except teaching/learning and research)
- Identify opportunities where application solutions could assist the campus in achieving its goals; evaluate the readiness of the campus to leverage such technologies
- Review and suggest campus’ application solution direction, capabilities, and strategic objectives—including prioritization of application solution projects
- Recommend the campus’ resource commitment to application solutions (review and recommend direction for campus applications (large & departmental) in line with strategic goals)
- Identify and address issues, risks, and opportunities associated with campus application solution planning initiatives
- Solicit the views of relevant campus academic and administrative advisory committees and incorporate them into the materials prepared for ITGC
Authority
- Request input from university enterprise solution users and other IT Governance groups on enterprise solution topics
- Decline project requests that do not meet the goals of the university
- Make prioritized recommendations to the ITGC
Management of Disputes
If topics should arise that cannot be resolved within the ESAC organization, the topic will be elevated to the ITGC who will work towards resolution.
