OIT Datacenter Move

The University’s Data Center operations were successfully moved to the new UT Arlington Computing Center (UTACC) over the first two weekends in March. While the move involved every piece of equipment in the OIT Data Center and affected all OIT services across campus, there were no unplanned outages and no systems were impacted.

The new UT Arlington Computing Center (UTACC) will not only provide growth capacity for many years to come, it will boast increased capabilities that surpass those of most regional data centers. These enhanced capabilities will include redundancies (power, cooling, and network connectivity), security, fire suppression, and the ability to survive 200 mph winds, providing UT Arlington with a powerful, resilient facility to house and protect mission critical systems and university data.
