Orientation Schedule

Freshmen

New Maverick Orientation is two days filled to the brim with information and fun.  Day one of orientation will focus on academics.  You’ll have the chance to meet with a representative from your College/School, learn about the resources available for new students and meet with your academic advisor to review your first semester classes.

Day two will focus on your social adjustment to campus.  Getting involved in campus activities will improve your time-management skills and help you become a better student, and of course, make your college years memorable.  Making new friends and asking current students all types of questions will give you a great insight to what college life is really like.

Check-in for day one of each two-day orientation session begins at 8:00 am in the Bluebonnet Ballroom inside the University Center. Please click here for directions and parking information.

VETERANS

New Maverick Orientation understands that your needs may be different from our traditional students, so we have designed a schedule, specifically for you. Understanding your Veteran’s benefits, the new GI Bill and the services provided by the Veteran Affairs office are the main focus of this orientation. Connecting with other veterans and asking questions of current student veterans will also help you connect to the campus community
