Advising and Registration
At New Maverick Orientation, you will meet with an academic advisor from your major department. Your advisor will give you specific information about the curriculum and requirements for your intended major, and will help you select your first classes at the University. Advising at orientation takes place in groups; however, there will be time for you to meet one-on-one with your advisor. Be patient – this process can take some time, but is intended to ensure that you come away with a well-balanced and appropriate schedule of classes for your first semester.
After you have been advised, you will be granted clearance to register for your classes. Check with the Office of Admissions or the appropriate department to make sure that all necessary test scores, transcripts, and health insurance (international students) documentation has been received and that no holds are present on your account. If these factors have not been attended to, your ability to register for classes could be delayed.
